我的观点

After reading this book it is really hard for me to imagine that this book was published as early as 1932.
The book describes the future of people who are transformed by reproductive technology into an intelligence-based social hierarchy, and their future is determined long before they are born. Unlike the general class system like in India, they will not feel unhappiness because of their class level, because the ideological control since childhood makes everyone believe that their class is the happiest. Not only that, in this new world you will always be carefree. There is no war, no conflict, and no environmental problems. Even if you have problems, you can solve them by eating a piece of "Soma". This also makes it difficult for them to accept the world outside the New World, which is full of emotions and uncertainties.
The science fiction of the 20th century is gradually becoming a reality in the 21st century.
In this digital age, mobile phones are not limited to communication. For most people, mobile phones serve as entertainment devices. Satisfying your inner desires with mobile phones, is as simple as moving your fingers. Big data controls what you see and ensures that you only see content that aligns with your preferences. Welcome to your new world – a world governed by big data.
The "Soma" mentioned in the book provide a fleeting sense of gratification while absorbing one entirely into the present moment. However, the short-lived joy is often replaced by an intensified craving, eventually leading to addiction.
It's really like a phone addiction. In this era where cell phones are always with you when you work or study, do you often want to pick up your cell phone to check for new messages, or do you often find yourself unable to resist the urge to play games and watch short videos? I admit it. Because watching short videos can make me happy in a short period of time without using my brain, and my brain seems to remember that this can make me happy while producing dopamine, which makes me more and more dependent on cell phones, and more and more It's hard to focus on one thing, so the phone has become my " Soma". Not only that, but long-term addiction to the Internet has also made it more and more difficult for me to face reality, because when I see the beautiful lives of others on the Internet, I begin to long for them, and even begin to complain about why my family is not as rich. Why is my life not as colorful as theirs? In this gap, I choose to continue to indulge in the online world and continue to indulge in unrealistic fantasies.
But after reading this book, I found that I liked the people in the book and lived in a world where there was only happiness, and over time was overwhelmed by the sudden pain of reality.
"Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world." - C.S. Lewis
Is it truly desirable, to yearn for a world devoid of pain? While suffering is not commendable, it holds greater power than any teachings. It suggests that breaking is a means of improving one's shape. Once I have succeeded in crossing this hurdle, I will receive a reward beyond anyone else's capacity to offer. My happiness lies in the belief that, the greater the suffering, the greater the pleasure.
Although I once longed for a happy and stable life, after reading this book, I realized that a world filled with challenges and humanity is what truly inspires me.
